Excessive medical drugs use can cause mental illness

A group of researchers from the United States have found that antibiotics that fights bacterial infection may be linked to a serious disruption in brain function, called delirium, and other brain-related problems.

According to Mayo Clinic, "Delirium is a serious disturbance in mental abilities that results in confused thinking and reduced awareness of your environment." It may also be accompanied by hallucinations and agitation. "People who have delirium are more likely to have other complications, go into a nursing home instead of going home after being in the hospital," said author Shamik Bhattacharyya from Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston
